Term Life Insurance
Provides protection for a limited period of time, typically for short term needs, and pays benefits only if you die during the specified period of time (term). It costs less than permanent life insurance. You have the option to convert to a permanent life insurance policy without evidence of insurability.
Permanent Life Insurance
Universal life, participating or non-participating life insurance, covers you for your entire lifetime and provides a tax-free death benefit payout. Universal life and participating life insurance also allow you to accumulate tax-advantaged savings within the life insurance policy. Life insurance companies also offer a number of additional options to customize your life insurance policy. We can assist you in determining which options are best for you.
Universal Life Insurance
Covers you for your entire lifetime. It has a tax-advantaged savings component as well as providing death benefit protection. Within policy limits, you can decide how much or how little you want to pay into the policy. You decide how the savings component of your policy is invested, and can withdraw cash from your policy or borrow against it. You can also adjust the premium and the value of your death benefit. A Universal Life policy allows you to accumulate interest tax-free within the policy, enabling you to realize returns that may be significantly higher than those offered by traditional savings vehicles.
Participating Life Insurance
Covers you for your entire lifetime. This permanent life insurance is very low-maintenance for the consumer who is looking to complement a balanced investment portfolio. A participating life insurance policy offers guaranteed premiums and guaranteed cash values. It also allows you to have a tax-advantaged savings component without requiring investment expertise. With a participating life insurance policy, you can leave the investing up to the professionals.
Non-Participating Whole Life Insurance
Offers death benefit protection for your entire lifetime, guaranteed premiums, and in some cases, guaranteed cash value. The most common version is a Term to 100 policy which provides coverage for life. Premiums are payable until age 100, and there is no savings component nor cash value.
Provides a monthly income in the event you are unable to work due to an injury or illness. This type of coverage is crucial for self-employed individuals as well as individuals who feel they do not have sufficient disability insurance coverage through their employer, and wish to top up their coverage.
Critical Illness Insurance
A form of health insurance that provides a lump-sum payment should you become seriously ill. Although they differ from company to company, typical illnesses and diseases covered by critical illness insurance may include:
- heart attack
- multiple sclerosis
- organ transplants
- kidney failure
Long Term Care Insurance
lets you keep control over the quality of your care in the comfort of your own home, and can also fund comprehensive coverage for nursing home care, should you need it. And, with Long Term Care Insurance you may not have to withdraw from your savings, or fully rely on other sources of funding.
We all plan to be healthy throughout our lifetime, but sometimes getting older can prevent us from doing things that we now take for granted. Part of planning for your golden years means considering the possibility that you’ll need help in performing your day-to-day activities should a chronic illness or cognitive impairment keep you from being able to take care of yourself.
Personal Health Insurance
Affordable personal coverage is available for unexpected health events, or for ongoing health expenses not covered by provincial plans. Depending on your drug, dental, and supplementary health needs (such as vision care, chiropractic care or emergency travel medical), you simply choose the plan that suits you best.
